Pastor Gales served at Plaza Baptist Church for 32 years before retiring in 2003. During his retirement years he served at several other churches in North Carolina. We are thrilled to have him back as of April 2012.
David received his education at Wingate University, North State College, and Pfeiffer University. He has majors in Accounting and Religion. David served on the OMF, Glad Tidings and EEEM mission boards. He participated in overseas mission trips from 1975 to 2003 including England, Eastern Europe, Japan and Germany among others. He also hosted a radio ministry on WHVN daily.
David has been preaching God’s Word for forty-eight years. Some of his sermon titles this past year are "The last lap", "Let-er-Rip", "Barking up the wrong tree" and "When the roses bloom again". The unique titles are designed to meet every day needs people have today.
He and his wife, Phyllias live in Charlotte and have two sons and several grandchildren. David's favorite quote is "What’s most important is not what you have, but what has you".
He always leaves you with "We love you and there is nothing you can do about it… LAW LAW LAW".
Diane has played the piano for Plaza Baptist since 2010. She began as a little girl and plays by ear.
She started the Kings Academy with her sister in 2009. They work one on one with 18 children per year.
